No. Most students begin with no prior martial arts experience. Classes are structured to introduce fundamentals gradually, and beginners train alongside more experienced students in a supportive environment.

Yes. Aikido is well-suited for beginners because it emphasizes balance, movement, and technique rather than strength or aggression. You progress at your own pace.

Yes. New students are eligible for a free introductory class. This allows you to experience Aikido, meet the instructor, and see if the training is a good fit. If you enjoy it, feel free to sign up. If you do not, there is no obligation to continue.

No uniform is required for your first classes.
For your initial session, please wear:
Comfortable athletic clothing
Long pants
A t-shirt or athletic top
If you decide to continue training, we can advise you on uniform options.

Your first class will focus on:
Basic movement and posture
Safe falling and rolling
Introductory techniques
Understanding class etiquette
There is no pressure to keep up nor any expectation for you to master the material in a single class.

No. Aikido can be practiced well into adulthood and does not require high levels of fitness to begin. Strength, flexibility, and conditioning develop naturally through regular training.

Our program is currently focused on teens and adults. Please contact us for current age requirements and class availability.

Many students train with prior injuries or limitations. Let the instructor know before class, and techniques can be modified as needed. Safety is always a priority.

Most beginners start with 1–2 classes per week. As you advance further in the curriculum, we recommend attending 2-3 classes a week.
